:)

Yesterday morning, after I said I didn't think I could get into the shower, I decided to try anyway. And guess what?! I was able to put on a lovely black plastic trash bag and some pretty silver duct tape and drag my useless appendage (left leg) into the shower and get really clean.

Ahhh. Euphoria.

Now I spent the day mostly lying around, since there's not a whole lot I can do right now, but at least I was lying around in clean pajamas with clean hair and skin that smelled faintly of Calendula. (Amy, I am sure you'll be happy to know that I've found a place to get home made soaps. Gresham Saturday Market. Yum. It in no way replaces my favorite Amy soap, but at least it's not Irish Spring.)

My brothers and I had decided to get our parents some nice patio furniture for their anniversary. They have those cheap-assed plastic stacking chairs (same as mine... ha ha.) We set a $300 to $400 price limit when we discussed it, reasoning that all of us could chip in. Of course that was before all the surgery and other shit I have going on, but whatever. They're only celebrating their 50th once, ya know?

So my sister in law was in Lowe's to pick up a part for their well, and she was wandering around. She found all the patio sets on clearance and picked up a set for my parents for only $xxx.xx. Which, if I do the math correctly, makes my share, well, smaller than I was expecting.

I also heard from an online friend yesterday. We've known each other online for about 12 years, and she's someone I really like. She had a medical procedure a week ago to determine if she had cancer. She does not. They did not find anything abnormal. Definitely a reason to celebrate!

So things are looking up right now.

Leg feels better, too. The place that hurt before the surgery no longer hurts. Now it's the joint itself and the incisions, but I can tell that it's better every day.

Let's everybody dance!

  5. Sure glad things are looking up for you. I know how great it is to get a shower. I didn't have to duct tape my finger though, but it always feels good to take the splint off and get a shower and put a clean one on. I am all caught up on reading. Glad you pulled through and the healing is going well.
