More about what's going on in my head...

Thanks for the advice y'all.

We bought the special hypoallergenic barrier mattress protector with the bed. I did wash it when we first got it, but I'm going to run it through the washer again today. (Didn't have time yesterday.) Maybe the faint smell I'm smelling is the mattress pad thing instead of the bed.

I don't know for sure that it's the bed that's making my head ache, either. I ended up having to take another pill Monday evening because the headache was creeping back up on me.

We will definitely get the mattress out in the sun when we GET some sun... Monday we had rain, hail, sunshine, rain, hail, sunshine, lightning and thunder and hail... well, didn't get it outside. :)

I will get a different pillow out and see if that helps, and a trip to the chiropractor is definitely in order as soon as I can catch up with him. Best part about seeing my chiropractor? I get to catch up with Tami, too, since they're really two halves of the same person.

The electric blanket showed up Monday afternoon as I was heading out the door for work, so at least I didn't have to sleep cold last night!

Heaven.

And speaking of heaven...

Had an interesting discussion at work with some kids Monday. First there was some debate about the Easter Bunny. They went around the table, asking each person if he or she believed in the Easter Bunny.

They asked me, too. And I said, "I have never seen the Easter bunny, but my kids got baskets from the Easter Bunny when they were younger. Did you get a basket?"

All of them enthusiastically recited a list of the gifts they'd received and they never did get a yes or no from me. Not that anyone noticed.

Then, the conversation drifted to God. (Lots of them went to church for Easter.)

They went around the table, asking each kid if he or she believes in God. All of them said yes.

They asked me if I believe in God, too.

I told them that I don't discuss religion while I am at work. (I've refused to discuss politics with them, too. Several times. Likewise sex. Those are things that just aren't on my approved list of discussion topics at work.)

I decided that explaining the difference between a believer in some sort of God, or being an Agnostic or an Atheist was sort of outside the scope of my job description.

I told them that my personal beliefs were exactly that- personal, and that if they had questions about the existence of God or questions about religious things that they'd need to ask their parents.

I generally don't discuss religion with anyone but a few close friends. Certainly not with a bunch of little ones.

Definitely not my job.

And speaking of jobs. I'm practicing typing numbers like crazy. At least an hour a day.

So if they ask me to take the test again, I'll be ready.

Getting this job is about as likely as winning the lottery, really. But if you don't buy a ticket...

The Portland Tribune said Monday that unemployment has reached a record high of 12.1 percent in Oregon. So there will be lots of people 'buying a ticket' for this particular job.
