Bob said he doesn't have the telephone chargers.
I know he does. They were here until he left. Where else would they be?
I can guess what happened. When Lyssa called him, he just decided that he didn't have them and didn't even bother to look or try to match them up with his phone. He and his wife have the same style of telephone, so he can use her charger anyway. He will eventually figure it out and send ours back. I think Eric may have a charger in his bag of them from work that will charge his phone anyway. I'm not sure what we're going to do about Alyssa's. Probably have to go buy a new one.
Meanwhile, neither Eric or Lyssa is getting a charge out of all of this.
Ha.

I'm (as you probably guessed) a little sick of politics. The thing that's pissing me off the most right now are the bloggers and news reporters making snide comments about Sarah Palin's pregnant teen. "Oh yeah, Republicans... see where abstinence education gets you?"
Okay, you morons. Politics have nothing to do with her pregnancy. I'm pretty sure that when one is in that sort of, er, compromising position, the idea of being a member of any political party is the last thing on her mind.
The kid is a horny teenager, that's all. Weren't you?
Seriously.
Didn't any of you know it wasn't a great idea to have sex as a teen but you DID IT ANYWAY?
Some of you even got pregnant, I bet.
So friggin' what?
Please, let's get back to ducking the issues, telling lies about our opponents, and thinking up new ways to steal money from the taxpayers.
Getting away from the subject of one pregnant teenager will make both parties appear to have just a bit more class.

In the school district where I work, school gets out early on Wednesdays so that the teachers have meeting and planning time. They're all still at the school until four or so, but we get 'our' kids an hour earlier than usual.
Actually, that's not exactly true. We're supposed to get them at one, but in reality, they start trickling in at a quarter to. Some of them are released just a bit early.
We spend that extra time in the gym, playing group games and running off some energy. I like it because by the time we get to our headquarters in the cafeteria, the kids have calmed down quite a bit. I *don't* like it because even though it's really only an hour and a half earlier for me, it feels like about three hours. This is PMS week, so I am exhausted. This is the 3rd morning in a row I've started my day with two Excedrin. I'll have two more before leaving for work. The caffeine helps me, and so does the aspirin. It doesn't really help my stomach much, though. Urgh.

Alyssa is going to be volunteering in a 3rd grade classroom across the street. Letting her make the decision to stop going to school was not difficult, but the underlying reasons that sent her there in the first place still exist.
She still doesn't get out enough, does not have people to just hang out with and is not satisfied with the selection of activities I had provided for her in the past. She doesn't want to be a Girl Scout anymore, not even in someone else's troop. The Game Day she used to attend no longer exists. The teen group that she had one outing with isn't a very active group, and we're sort of at a loss as to what to do.
This will at least get her out on a regular basis, and she'll enjoy hanging out with the short people, I think. The teacher has invited her to go on a walking field trip to the library, and to have a picnic in the park with them next week as a way of getting to know the kids.
She is open to the idea of attending a class or two at the local CC, so that may happen, too.
I'm going to have to find more things for her to do. She just wants to sit around the house.
She wants to get a part time job. I'm okay with that idea, but we're sort of stuck with the whole transportation thing. All of us scatter daily in different directions, especially once Matt is back in class on the 22nd. So it will have to be a job within walking distance, which makes me nervous on several levels.
We shall see.
Meanwhile, I'm done sitting here. I have to leave for work in a little less than four hours, and I have a lot to do before then.
Hope your Wednesday is a good one.
We have had more phone chargers walk off than I can count!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Alyssa helping with the little one's will be great! It will help her feel important.
I hear ya on the getting out thing. DJ only attends drama class at church. He always complains he is bored, but don't want to do anything. Plus, with momma being sick it is hard to go do other things.
HUGS on the hormone thingy! Menopause is tearing me and my nerves UP!
i wasn't horny as a teenager and I didnt have sex. odd, yes. but it kept me out of trouble :-)
ReplyDeleteuntil i'd been married and was ready to have kids, anyway. ouch. my trouble is now poking me up a storm.
