I'm up, I'm packed, I'm taking off way early. Well, if you call eleven-ish early. I plan to arrive at the GS property by noon, even though 3:30 is the official time we're allowed to arrive.
I'm excited about the event, but it's also bittersweet. I really adore 'my' girls. They're just an amazing group, and I'll miss seeing them every week. It makes me sad to say goodbye, but with the changes in my life as well as the changes in the lives of a few troop families, the timing really isn't too bad. I sure hope I see the girls once in awhile, though. And that they don't go ewww when I rush up and hug 'em.
Oh look. Once again, digression. I bet that's one reason you read here, isn't it?
When I scouted out the place a couple weeks ago, I talked to the ranger who lives on the premises. I explained that it's our last outing and that I want it to be special.
She said that there is not a group booked before us, so if I want to be there quite early, it's okay.
All the preparations I can do here at home are over, the car is packed, and I'm officially past full-panic mode.
Or am I?
:::deep breath:::
Okay, I'm gone.
I know you will all have a wonderful time full of great memories!!!

ReplyDeleteGo ahead and shamelessly kiss all the little girls, no matter what they think they want. They'll appreciate it later. ;-)
I hope it goes well. I look forward to hearing about it when you are done.
