We picked up a couple very tired teenage girls from camp yesterday.
Both of them were quite emphatic about what they needed next... MEAT.
Camp served a vegetarian menu.
So after a stop for fast food, (I just can't eat that shit anymore. It makes me sick.) we headed back toward Portland.
There was a lot of excitement bubbling from the back seat... until Lyssa fell asleep just outside Salem. She slept until we were almost home. Her friend did not fall asleep, which surprised me. I hadn't just spent a week at camp but *I* wanted to sleep!
They took a ton of pictures. Before I go shower this morning, I am going to upload the photos to Snapfish and have the copies sent to Walgreen's just up the street. Her friend will go home with a photo album, and Lyssa will have one, too.
They're both already making plans to attend camp next year. I'm going to start saving a bit of money here and there as soon as I'm back to work on a regular schedule.
I'm so glad to have Lyssa home.
I really, really missed her. Having her gone for a week and not talking to her was really a long time for me. I'm glad she had a good time. I'd be pissed if I spent that much money and she hadn't!
She broke her retainer at camp. Did not wear it after Tuesday. She goes to dentist today. I don't know if they can fix it or if she will have to have a new one. When we did the whole braces thing, I really did not know much about it. I didn't know about retainers and all the stuff that has to happen AFTER the braces come off.
Well, now I do.
::sigh::
So glad she is home and had a great time. Sorry about the retainer though.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to have read about the retainer issue after the braces because my youngest son will need braces when he is older *sigh*.
I'm glad she had fun and both of you seemed to have survived her camp experience.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the retainer. That sucks, I hope you don't end up footing the bill for another one.
Luckily Dear Baby Boy was born with perfectly straight teeth, but I just can't seem to get him to brush them on a regular basis. I'm not sure what good perfectly straight teeth are if each and every single one of them needs a filling or falls our due to decay . . . but I digress . . . that is for another post.
Glad your baby girl made it home safe.
I'm glad your baby is home and she had a good time.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the retainer. Hope all works out well!
