Evidently there are going to be some interesting moments for three Oregon athletes in Beijing.
From KGW's website comes this gem.
" Nick Symmonds, Andrew Wheating and Christian Smith, all Oregon-based runners, became half-mile heroes overnight with efforts that ranged from convincing to courageous. All three won births in next month's Olympic Games in Beijing."
What does that mean, exactly? Are they going to collect babies? Have one? One can win a birth?
Now I can see using the word berth. Perhaps that's what they meant?

Don't they have some kind of restrictions on births in China? Well, I guess if I only got one shot, I'd want good breeding stock. Olympic runners have got to be right up there with doctors, right?
