We took the kids to Oaks Amusement Park yesterday. The place is so old that my grandparents actually went roller skating there when they were dating.
(The rides are a little newer than that.)
It was Ariel's sixth birthday. She thought we were going to the amusement park to celebrate. :)
She had money with her! Two bucks. That was enough for the Gatorade she wanted.
I bought her a snow cone (her second!) and a little inflatable crown that she HAD to have because, "Is my berfday today I am this many."
Ran into two of my Girl Scouts and their dad. We agreed that it's pretty cool to get paid to go ride roller coasters and eat ice cream.
My pedometer said 2.89 miles at the end of the day. Of course, it took me four hours to cover that distance, so I'm pretty sure it's not all that much exercise.
However, my feet are sore. I'll be visiting my favorite chiropractor today to get them manipulated. Last time, he helped a LOT, but they're still a bit sore. I'm looking forward to them feeling better.
I did some major cleaning on Tuesday, and will be doing more this afternoon. Trying to declutter a bit at a time, but not take the rest of my life to do it, ya know?
Glad you had a good time. Sounds like you are just what Ariel needs.
ReplyDeleteHey, when you are done with your de clutter want to tackle mine?
Aww sounds like Ariel (and you) had a good time. I went through a declutter stage not too long ago myself LOL. I hope your feet feel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteAmusement parks kick ass. Glad it was a great day, and the sore feet were well-earned.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much easier to tackle the big stuff in little bits. Slow and steady and all that. I had a white-board on the wall once that said "Move a mountain, one pebble at a time." I hope you get a good portion of your moutain moved today.
I'm so glad you had a good time. It seems like you are just the right kind of teacher/friend/surrogate mom that little Ariel needs. That's always nice to be needed and loved.
ReplyDeleteI hope your feet feel better. My back is on the mend after 2 1/2 weeks I'm so pissy about it. I can't imagine still dealing with pain as long as you have.
Regarding your comment on my Mom. Can you believe she lives about 5 minutes from me, actually less if I walk . . . I guess I'm too close to the issue.
Maybe I should move, LOL. Actually, I REALLY want to move. Being the oldest and the closest is too much pressure.
Happy Birthday to Ariel! You are the best present she could ever get this summer. The times you are spending with her will be memories she'll always cherish!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time! Just hope on down here and help me de- clutter! Every time I do, I seem to find more. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGlad you going to get relieve off your feet.
I'm counting on you. No one else seems to know the answers and they are all over my Blog. Help a girl out!!!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell...if I got paid to ride the roller coaster and eat cotton candy, I might be inclined to do something like that. I have a small pedometer, but I haven't taken it out of the box. I got it so I could do just what you have, but I haven't got around to it.
