I really don't have anything important to say

But I can't let that stop me. I've posted every day since October 23rd, 2007. I really don't have a specific goal, and I'm not trying to do Blog 365 or anything, I am just curious about how long I can keep it going.

I try to write something at about the same time every day, thinking that perhaps if I get into the habit of writing daily, I'll eventually do something with it. But doing something with my writing (as my mom puts it) requires more effort and motivation than I (apparently) have.

Over the weekend, I had bunches of little things that had to be done. I was doing the whole lie-awake-at-night-and-obsess thing.

I did the taxes, I did all the Girl Scout money, I filled out the deposit slips and did the adding machine tapes so I could deposit all those checks, I went out and purchased a couple things for my Girl Scout meeting on Monday and I even remembered that choir was going to start on Monday night.

While I was getting ready for bed on Monday night, my mind was, as usual, zipping along saying, and I did this and I did that... when suddenly I realized what I was doing. My mind was actively searching for something new to obsess over!! I had accomplished the things I meant to do, and needed something to worry about. How weird is that?

I can't just be done. I have to be focused on the next thing.

You don't think I'm some kind of nutcase, do you?

Off to wake up my exercise partner. I think I'll keep my music from yesterday. Matt, bless him, has figured out how I can put my playlists in the order I want. He did comment though, that most people don't really care about the order of their music, and that it must be an 'old person' thing.

I often wonder. Would he be a smartass if his father wasn't one? Obviously he had to get it from Eric.

And. This is the 9th week I have not had a migraine. How strange is that? My usual pattern in the last few years has been a migraine about every two weeks, and of course a bad one every four.

I hope mentioning it hasn't jinxed me.

I hope you aren't jinxed either. Our son and 2nd daughter have suffered from occasional migraines. They usually throw up then feel okay.

  5. I"ve been so obsessive lately, too. The really twisted thing is that I always seem to be looking for something to feel BAD about. Like, I can't obsess about anything nice, God forbid, it has to be something awful. Yeesh. Talk about a nutcase.

  6. I hate that lying awake obsessing thing. Thinking about what I'm going to do tomorrow, or how I could have better handled the stupid twit at the library, or how long it might take me to slowly switch to decaf coffee and what that might do to me... It's like I'm incapable of going to sleep unless I *think* about *something*, but sometimes that thinking keeps me awake. You're not any more of a nutcase than I am.
