My hub is 43 years old today.
Someone asked me the other night how old he was, and I had to really think about it. I don't pay attention to age much. When we got married we were REALLY young, and everyone paid very close attention to our ages then, let me tell ya. When we went to have hub measured for his tux for the wedding the lady measuring him evidently hadn't figured out he was the groom... or that I was the bride. She measured his inseam, wrote it down, turned to me and said, "They grow so fast at this age, don't they?" We had a laugh over it a few years later, but neither one of us found it humorous at the time.
Our son took this picture last month because he thought it was funny. I won't wait a few years before I laugh over it. Hubby on the throne, reading a book, brushing teeth and relaxing. ;)

ReplyDeleteMy DH is 3 years younger than I. Shortly after we were married we went to buy him jeans and the lady asked him if he should ask his mother what she thought about the jeans. *L* He started growing a goatee that day. I think I told her he wasn't my son, he was my boytoy. I wasn't nearly as kind back in the day as I am now *snort*
I think the world would be a better place if people trying to sell you things knew when to keep their mouth closed. I've actually toyed with the idea of printing up some cards to hand to obnoxious salespersons, but I can't think of a phrase that says it all. Now with only three years age difference between you and your hub, the lady thinking you were his mom can only be blamed on terrible eyesight. Or stupidity.
