Ptui

On Saturday, Eric and I went to the bank. I waited in the car, the place looked like an anthill. So many cars in the parking lot and people all over.

While I waited in the car, a guy pulled into the drive up lane. He had three dogs with him. Not unusual, right? But what he was driving probably cost more than my house. :)

Check it out. Yeah, the bike has three wheels, like a trike. The trailer and kennels all matched, too. The dogs looked goofily happy to be out and about, tails wagging, tongues hanging out, barking at the people walking by.

It always pisses me off to start my week with a headache. Went to bed with the beginnings of a good one last night and about 2AM ended up taking the migraine pill. I didn't take one of the pills at first because I didn't think I'd have another migraine so soon.

And of course because I am in a 'safe' place hormonally.

I was wrong. (Mark it on your calendar, it's a rare occurrence.)

The thing I hate the worst about the migraine pills is that when I get into the shower within six hours of taking one, it's like I have a sunburn. Everywhere the water touches (and I wash all my parts carefully, so the water touches EVERYWHERE...) it feels like I'm burned.

I will have more than one headache this week, actually. Won't have my new and improved assistant... she's covering someone else's site this week while the site director is on honeymoon/vacation.

So I get Shelley*. My assistant from last year. I know the kids will be happy to see her. I will, too, although she's really not a whole lot of help with setup or with the kids or, well, with much.

If I want her to do something, I need to tell her to do it, she isn't exactly what they call a self starter. It usually ends up being faster and easier for me to just do what needs to be done. Takes too long to ask her to do it and explain how I want it done.
So I'll be working a little harder than usual this week.

On the good side, I was released from my prohibition  against anti inflammatories, so I can take Excedrin in between doses of migraine meds.

Hmph.

Have a good day.

  2. I LOVE that picture! I bet his puppies were thrilled! I'm sorry to hear about your Monday morning migraine, those are NEVER fun and worse when you actively take meds. I haven't looked back through other posts yet, but have you tried anything similar to aromatherapy for your migraines? I did acupressure for mine especially while I was in Massage School. I hope you feel better (or at least more functional) soon. Good luck with the "assistant".
