This is my second post for today. Scroll past to read my political rant from earlier this morning.
Eric and Matt and Bob spent another night at the coast.
They had an eventful trip, (yes, they caught fish and had a very memorable experience) but Eric is sick now (he caught the bug Lyssa and I have had).
They're supposed to be home this afternoon, unfortunately after I leave for work.
It's hard for me to rest when he's gone. I just don't feel secure. I don't know why.
So I lie awake in bed for awhile with the television on and sound turned down low.
While trying to go to sleep last night, I was channel surfing. I caught a few minutes of McCain's speech. I found it online and it's pasted in here exactly as he spoke it.
Am I the only one who noticed this?
I don't know. But it's funny.
"In this country, we believe everyone has something to contribute and deserves the opportunity to reach their God-given potential, from the boy whose descendants arrived on the Mayflower to the Latina daughter of migrant workers. We're all God's children, and we're all Americans."
I have sent this to several friends, and read it out loud to my family.
Apparently I *was* the only one who caught it.
And I don't know what it says about me that I found it so funny.
Think about it. Isn't it rather strange for one's descendants to arrive by ship?
I'm grateful my descendants arrived vaginally with minimal tearing... and no ship.
I didn't catch it the first time around, either. But now I'm LOL!
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, you might want to recheck that. We watched the speech last night, he did not say that.I do believe, that whoever posted that online, did so out of malice & edited other words in. Sorry..but he did not say those words. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteAND, I am big enough to stand up and admit my mistake..yes, it is true. I found the transpcript online at
ReplyDeletehttp://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/09/john_mccain_gop_convention_spe.html
So, with that said..you are correct. However, I would urge everyone to read the whole transcript.
Blessings.
He's following in Bush's footsteps. I wonder when he'll start creating his own vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I have got sick of the whole thing. They all seem to be filling everybody full of BULL!
ReplyDeleteI didnt catch it either, but that's funny. I have no brain right now. I'll try and get my blog updated soon, but my house has just umm, been taken over by 7 totes of baby items. I am going to have a heck of a time getting them sorted and thank you notes written. I was expecting maybe 5-8 people at each shower, uh uh. plus our church went all out. tons of people left cards for us. dont call 911, my hubby will fish me out of baby sheets and rattly toys, later, maybe, but he will, i have faith!
